Goldberg serves at WABC as a Chief Meteorologist. His forecasts appear on Eyewitness News First at 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM, and 11 PM. He covers both the Tri-State area AccuWeather and New York City weather. He is thrilled to work with Eyewitness News Weather Team. His passion for weather started when he was 12 years old. He built his 1st “Weather Center” out of milk cartons and shoe boxes. When he reached 14 years old, he broadcasted his 1st weather reports to his hometown of Canton, MA, on Canton Cablevision.
While in college, he worked as an intern at WHDH-TV and WCVB-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. Also, he interned at the National Weather Service office in Concord, New Hampshire. Goldberg started his career in meteorology in the year 1993 when he forecasted for ski areas and utilities with United States and Canadian radio stations, as well as with a private weather service. He also worked for WSTM-TV in Syracuse, New York as a fill-in on air, at the same time. There he contributed to the award-winning report when the historic “Blizzard of 1993” struck Central New York. After graduating from college, he went to work for WTVH-TV in Syracuse, New York as a full-time meteorologist.
When coming to Goldberg’s education, he is a proud graduate of Cornell University. He attended the university in the year 1970 and graduated 4 years later with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Meteorology. Goldberg shares his love for the weather with schools around the Tri-state, where he inspires a future generation of young meteorologists.
Goldberg likes giving back to the community. He strongly supports the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, where he hosts its annual Walkathon in Riverside Park each spring. Goldberg was honored for his dedication and commitment to the foundation. He is also actively involved in the Central Park Conservancy, where he supports multiple programs to preserve and protect the park. During his leisure, he likes rooting for Boston Red Sox (he is an avid fandom), golfing, and playing tennis.
