She developed love and passion for weather ever since she was little. During her ti,me in college, she interned at KOCO in Oklahoma City and chased storms in her free time. Up on college graduation, she traveled to Harrisonburg, Virginia where she worked for three years.

Prior to joining the FOX 23 News, she worked at WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While there, she began serving the station as a weekeday meteoroologist and reporter. After a period of time, she was elevated to a daybreak and noon meteorologist. In addition to that, in 2016, the American Meteorological Society awarrded her with the designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. She also Laura holds the position of co-Vice President of the local AMS/NWA chapter. Mock is also amember of National Weather Association.

Throughout her career, she has covered historic snowstorms and dozens of tornado outbreaks.She also provided coverage of damaging wildfires and hurricanes. In addition to that, she is a licensed drone pilot. She providesa different perspective on storm damage. During her leisure time, she likes kayaking and running.
