Kristine Sorensen is an American Anchor/Reporter working for CBS Pittsburgh/KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States as a news anchor at 5 p.m. She joined the station in April 2003. She previously worked in Dallas, Texas as a reporter and anchor before joining the station.

For 11 years, she also hosted “Pittsburgh Today Live” on KDKA. Before coming to KDKA, she worked in Dallas, Texas as a reporter and anchor.
Kristine won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for Features Reporter for Human Interest Stories for her Kidsburgh reports, such as a story on a colorful crossing guard, children in “A Musical Christmas Carol” and a boy with Autism who learned to speak through the help of a special iPad speaking device. The story went viral online and has been seen by more than 2 million people. Sorensen has also won an Edward R. Murrow award for reporting and an AP Award for hosting Pittsburgh Today Live which won best news talk show.
Sorensen enjoys gardening, playing tennis, reading, and enjoying Pittsburgh’s cultural institutions. Since childhood, she has studied dance and performed with dance companies for 10 years. Kristine performed a solo with the Bodiography Contemporary Ballet company’s performance at the Byham Theater in 2013. She volunteers in many ways in the community. She was one of only five people across their parent company, Paramount, to win the “Paramount Impact Award” in 2022 for her community service, in part for the club she and her son started at his middle school to raise money for the children of Ukraine.
For 10 years, Kristine served on the Board of Trustees for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and has written about dance for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She is an active supporter of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, March of Dimes, and Variety the Children’s Charity.
