Zontini is the morning Meteorologist for Channel 7 and AM 1290/News 95.7 WHIO radio. Growing up, she was exposed to all that Ohio weather has to offer from strong storms to lake-effect snow. This made her curious at a young age to learn why we see the weather we see. In 2017 Kirstie took home an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy award for her work on their team’s severe weather special, “Surviving the Storm.” They also took home a second-place award for that same special in the “Best Documentary” category from the Society of Professional Journalists.
In 2018, Kirstie took home first place for “Best Weathercast” from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors Awards. After graduating from college she accepted to work at WKBN/WYTV in Youngstown, Ohio serving as a Weekend Meteorologist and Weekday Video Journalist. It was a wonderful challenge forecasting for a region influenced by Lake Erie which helped her grow professionally. During her free time, she enjoys spending time outside with my husband, two daughters, and a dog named Hubie.
