While in Florida, she earned an Emmy award for her investigation into a local diocese decision to bring on a priest previously accused in a Pennsylvania grand jury report of failing to report sexual abuse in the church.
Kelly started her journalism career in Augusta, GA where she worked as an investigative reporter and anchor for four years. While there her reporting uncovered a school district breaking its own rules to hire bus drivers with poor driving records and found polling places in Georgia’s second largest city without proper access for people with disabilities. Her series ‘Invisible Barriers” further explored crumbling and missing sidewalks throughout downtown Augusta making it difficult for people with disabilities to get around. Through that report Wiley received her two Georgia Associated Press Awards for specialized reporting and series reporting.
