Kelcey Carlson is an American journalist who is working for KMSP-TV as an evening news anchor. She joined the station in January 2014.

Carlson serves KMSP as an evening news anchor. She joined the station in January 2014. After completing her undergraduate studies, she went on to serve Florence/Myrtle Beach market at CBS affiliate WBTW-TV as a weekend producer.
While there, she did multiple major stories within her first 2 months counting the crash of flight TWA 800, Fran, and Hurricanes Bertha. Later, she was promoted to serve as a reporter and photographer where she shot and edited her own stories for daily newscasts.
Further, she went on to serve in Kalamazoo, Michigan at WWMT-Ch. 3 as an anchor and a reporter. During her time there, she broadcasted various vital stories such as the execution of Timothy McVeigh and the 2000 Presidential Election uncertainty in West Palm Beach.
Also, she started doing more investigative reporting and gaining awards for her stories on the Sex Offender Registry while serving WWMT. Ultimately, she was promoted to serve the station as a weekday morning anchor.
Even so, she spent most of her career serving in Raleigh, North Carolina at WRAL-TV. Upon her joining the station, she first served as a reporter and was later promoted to the weekend news anchor and finally the weekday morning anchor.
During her time there, she provided coverage for multiple major hurricanes counting Hurricane Isabel which destroyed the southern Outer Banks. Too, she broadcasted the Duke Lacrosse case. Else, she was responsible for the station’s coverage of the criminal trial against presidential candidate John Edwards.
Further, she was live near Boylston Street after the Boston Marathon bombing as she had partaken in the marathon in 2013. Moreover, she gained an Emmy nomination for her work on John Edwards’ criminal case. Also, she got an Emmy for Best Weekend Newscast.
She served in Raleigh for 10 and a half years after broadcasting the Hurricane’s Stanley Cup victory, Federal Courts, and Final Four wins. In 2014, she joined Fox 9 where she gained a lead on Prince’s demise. Further, she was the key reporter to arrive at Paisley Park the morning of his death.
Also, she field anchored the station’s broadcast and field anchored the live broadcast succeeding the explosion at Minnehaha Academy. During her time at FOX 9, she broadcasted the Super Bowl in Houston and the Super Bowl in the Twin Cities.
Too, she aided in breaking the news of P.J. Fleck’s employment at the University of Minnesota with the help of her contacts from back in Kalamazoo. When she is not working she enjoys running and is an ardent runner having completed 31 marathons.
Counting, 7 Boston Marathons where in 3 marathons she qualified under the men’s timing standard. However, standing near Boylston Street after the bombings was one of the most emotional assignments she did.
Further, just 4 months after her second child was born in 2011, she secured victory in the Grandfather Mountain Marathon in Boone, North Carolina. Moreover, she has worked on the board for Girls on the Run in both Kalamazoo and Raleigh.
Additionally, she is on the board of The Positive Coaching Alliance in Minnesota. Else, she and her husband produce a podcast for PCA dubbed “My Sports Life for PCA MN” where they interviewed athletes like Lou Nanne, Matt Birk, Corey Koskie, and others on their path to success and overcoming tough odds. To boot, she enjoys spending time with her family at their cabin in Wisconsin where they fish, relax and waste some time together.
