Notably, Collett first joined the news team as a weekend evening anchor and a dayside reporter during the weekdays, and was later promoted to anchor the weekday morning news in August 2012. Her career years at WAVY-TV have seen her get nominated for an Emmy in 2009 after she covered a story of a local child suffering from uncontrollable sneezing.
