Karlene Chavis is an American Meteorologist/Reporter/Anchor working with the CBS 8 News team as a Chief Meteorologist broadcasting the weather every weeknight. Prior to CBS 8 News, she was working with the WSVN-TV team located in Miami, Florida where she was broadcasting the weather as a weekend morning meteorologist.

Prior to joining the CBS 8 News team, she was working with WSVN-TV where she was recognized as the “best meteorologist” by the Miami News Time.
Previously, she has also worked with the CBS Local 2 News team located in Palm Springs, California where she was serving as a weekday morning weather anchor and as a fill-in entertainment reporter/anchor for Eye on the Desert. Her skills were also utilized as the weekend evening weather anchor for the sister station KESQ-TV. She was also working as a Weather Anchor/Reporter for the KECY-TV located in Yuma, Arizona.
Previously, she was also working as an intern with the KNXV-TV, an ABC affiliate station located in Phoenix, Arizona. She has also worked as a published photojournalist and newspaper reporter for The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com. This is in addition to working as a web entertainment reporter for Gannet Company, Inc. Away from work, she enjoys visiting art galleries and museums, traveling, hiking, spending time with family, and baking.
