He later joined Five Live during its launch in the year 1994 where he was previously working as a reporter and newsreader. However, soon after, he was moved to work as a regular presenter on Weekend Breakfast, which is before presenting Five Live Breakfast alongside Victoria Derbyshire. Later on, he moved to the mid-morning show in July 2003 where he was taking over from Fi Glover, He worked here till July of 2004 when he moved in order to become a relief presenter for the BBC News. On several, he also presented the BBC Radio 4 obituary programme Last Word.
Between September 2002 and September 2007, he was presenting the current affairs programme Worricker on Sunday. This also included the 5 Live Report. September of 2007 saw him make a decision to take a six-month break from both 5 Live and BBC News in order to go travelling around the world. His reporting can be found on the BBC World Service mostly on Saturdays and Sunday mornings.
