Landon is an Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter at FOX 2 Detroit in Michigan. He is thrilled to be back and working in his hometown. Prior to joining the FIX 2 Detroit news team, he worked at WDJT CBS 58 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While there, he served the station as a reporter and anchor.
His journalism career began working as a reporter in Lansing, Michigan. After working there for quite some time, he moved to Florida, Virginia, and Wisconsin before returning back home. Local TV news has been in him since he was a kid. His mother used to make him watch the local news in Detroit while growing up. She taught him that it’s important to know what’s happening around you which later became COOL for him.
He recalls a time his cousin Andre and him were at the Detroit International Auto Show. They were two little kids sitting in the car, checking it out, and out of nowhere, a news crew walked up to interview them. The experience was cool which he recalls to date. Another instance was when he was walking around at Eastland Mall, and he noticed a former TV meteorologist shopping with his kids. He followed the gentleman in the mall until he got his attention. The guy introduced himself, shook Landon’s hand, and wished her a good day.
At 15 years old, he was working at McDonald’s outside Eastland Mall, which was his first job. He was working in the drive-thru one day when a news crew passed through to grab food. As a kid, he has run into local TV personalities on more than one occasion. It took him to reach the age of 19 before discovered broadcast journalism would be his career.
While in college at EMU he was a secondary education major, he conversed with a college friend about her internships at FOX 2 NEWS and the radio station 97.9 She told him about her experiences and something apprised him to give it shot. From the moment he saw anchors and reporters doing their jobs, he was officially hooked and knew this was the job for him.
