Chaney is an anchor and reporter at KFOR News 4 in Oklahoma City. She first joined the station as an intern. After one week she began working behind scenes writer and assignment editor. During her time there, she worked hard and landed her first on-air job at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas. While there, she served the station as a morning anchor and was involved in the Honor’s Program. A year later, she returned to KFOR-TV reporting and anchoring the news. Chaney also worked at another local television station from June 2014 to June 2016 but returned to KFOR as a weekday 4 pm anchor. Later, she was elevated to main evening anchor following the retirement of legendary Oklahoma journalist Linda Cavanaugh.

While growing up, her mother would tell her stories that always began with “Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Joleen.” Today, she is telling the stories of Oklahomans each day on KFOR News 4 as a professional storyteller. During her leisure time, she like, hiking and running. she is a lifelong athlete.  Chaney emcees and participates in races across the state. She also dedicated her time to emceeing events benefitting Oklahoma nonprofits. Chaney enjoys doing charity work,  in 2011, she helped to raise several thousand dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Oklahoma by competing in a half-ironman triathlon. She has run and cycled  in events to benefit the American Diabetes Association and the Children’s Miracle Network. Her first full marathon she runs in April 2012 completing the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. In addition to that, she has run countless half marathons across Oklahoma.

Furthermore, Chaney is currently an honorary board member of the Children’s Hospital. She puts together “A Heart for Kids” biweekly segment where she highlights Oklahoma children who undergo live saving surgery made possible by an endowed program funded by The Children’s Hospital Foundation fundraising. She is also a member of Oklahoma Magazine’s “30 under 30 NextGen” inaugural class to honor Oklahomans under the age of 30 for outstanding career achievement. In addition to that, she travels the state speaking to high school students and women’s groups as a graduation speaker and a baccalaureate. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City and the Downtown Club of Oklahoma City.
