Veres serves at WENY as a Chief Meteorologist. His forecasts appear every evening from Monday to Friday, at 6 and 11 PM. He is the only local Meteorologist who holds the prestigious Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA). His love for weather began when he was young. While in elementary school, he used to watch the Weather Channel and gather weather forecasts, and use them to entertain his family. Veres’s love for weather rose while in high school where he served at ION Weather. He was also the “go-to guy” for the inside scoop on impending snow storms.
While in college, Veres served at WCAX in Burlington, Indiana as a fill-in meteorologist. There he gained more on-air experience. Also, he worked as an intern at FOX 5 in New York City. After graduating from college, he went to work for WAGM in Presque Isle Maine as a meteorologist, appearing on the 6 PM and 11 PM newscasts. From there, he now joined WENY-TV.
When coming to Veres’s education, he is a grad of Lyndon State College in northern Vermont. There he graduated with a degree in Communications and Meteorology. Veres likes volunteering in the local community. He regularly visits schools and teaches students about weather safety. During his leisure, he likes hanging out with his family and friends or working around the house.
