During that period, he served UTA Radio as the Sports Director, covering softball, volleyball, baseball, and basketball games. Also, he worked for the Cotton Bowl in 2018 as an intern. As an intern, he broadcasted Notre Dame and Clemson prior to the CFP Semifinals.
Before joining UT Arlington, he studied at Beloit College in Wisconsin under a baseball scholarship. While in Wisconsin he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity, a decision he will never regret while in college. He also served as the “Voice of the Bucs”, where he covered basketball and football games for the live stream.

Scanlan works as a morning anchor. He was raised in Arlington, TX, where he realized his passion for sports early on. He dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player someday. While he was young, he played baseball and furthered his baseball dreams at Beloit College in Wisconsin. However, his dreams were cut short due to injuries making him leave Wisconsin for UT-Arlington where he pursued a broadcast journalism degree. After graduating from college, he worked for KTEN News in Ardmore, OK, as a news reporter. While there, he loved reporting local stories for Southern Oklahoma.
