Gorchow is a reporter for CBS4 News. He joined the station as a seasoned reporter and anchor with extensive live and breaking news experience. His career began in the northeast where he spent most of his young life in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, roughly 15 minutes outside Philadelphia.
In the fall of 2009, Joe began working at KNDU in Kennewick, Washington as a sports anchor & reporter. While working there, his role was producing and anchoring sports shows, specials, and segments. In the year 2011, he began working for WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina, to continue his work in sports. While there he has served as the primary news and sports anchor for the 6, 10, and 11 p.m. weekend newscasts.
During his 10.5 years in Columbia, Gorchow won numerous awards for his work including the 2017 First Place Award for Television Best Sports Special, “Chasing a Championship,” RTDNA. He was also the 2021 Finalist for Use of Technology, “Embracing Change,” RTDNA.
While in Columbia Joe has covered NCAA Tournament basketball championships, The Masters, NASCAR, the College Football Playoff, and high school sports. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck people’s lives, he shifted his focus to news and covered education, the governor’s office, and many local community topics as an anchor and reporter.
During his free time, Gorchow enjoys going on nature walks, reminiscing about his glory days as a high school pitcher, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and two dogs, Hokie and Oreo.
