While there, he honed his reporting skills and was basically a one-man band. There, he was writing, editing, and shooting his own stories. For him, it was quite a challenge.
Later on, he was promoted to KOAT’s main station located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was made a reporter. Later on, just after about two years, he began delivering the top stories as the station’s weekend morning anchor.
He states that he loves telling stories and falls in love every day with every story. When he meets people he thinks to himself that that is a special day to tell their story and that it is his job to capture the emotions, spirit, and facts of their lives. It is with this kind of dedication that he leads Jeff back home to San Diego and CBS 8 News team.
Away from sports and weather, he enjoys telling stories of the San Diegans with his own quirky style. He has suffered in his business suit, climbed stoplights, and jogged in minus ten-degree meat lockers all to bring the viewer something unique and unusual. As a “typical” San Diegan, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. Among his favorite activities include surfing, camping, volleyball, and fishing.
