He joined the station in July 2021 as a multimedia journalist, and in April 2022, he moved into the sports department full-time. In his current role, he oversees local sports, produces sports segments, and anchors sports broadcasts. He is particularly involved in high school football coverage, including weekly recaps.
In addition to his on-air role, Hillgrove serves as the part-time host at KDKA-FM (93.7 The Fan) at Audacy Pittsburgh, where he hosts a 4-hour sports talk show on Sunday mornings from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and on weeknights from 6 p.m. to 10:35 p.m. He also hosts a sports podcast, “Jacked Up,” on the WTOV9 Facebook page and YouTube channel.
