Throughout her career, she has covered the story of an activist’s heroic response to violence on the streets of Cleveland, human trafficking in northeast Ohio, and protests in response to the election of President Donald Trump. Prior to joining the FOX 2 Detroit News team, she worked at WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio. While working there, she served as a news reporter and Saturday evening anchor for three years and five months. During her tenure there, she appeared on the Weather Channel from Charlotte North Carolina, and on MSNBC for her expertise in the Tamir Rice case.

In addition to that, she has nabbed exclusives and hold public officials accountable and covered breaking stories that have held Cuyahoga County’s Prosecutor accountable, while spurring a group of clergy to ask the prosecutor to recuse himself after the shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. While working at WKYC, she was sent to South Carolina to cover historic 1,000-year flooding. While there, she reported on the damage he was surveying throughout a portion of the state and interviewed U-S Senator Tim Scott live, and also reported live from the command center where Governor Nikki Haley gave press briefings. In addition to that, she was chosen to report on the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri. While there, she uncovered details about a $3.4 million request for emergency funds to pay police after being the first to interview a finance official in St. Louis County about the funding matter.

Alabama’s 13, WVTM

Before joining the WKYC News team, she worked as the weekend anchor, anchoring the weekend evening shows for the NBC station in Birmingham, Alabama, Alabama’s 13, WVTM. While there, she covered the one-year anniversary of the worst tornado outbreak to strike Alabama. Golston has covered sports too, she anchored NBC 13’s sports coverage on the weekend evening shows.

Her love and passion for journalism began at a young age. Prior to graduating from college, she made her mark in TV as a reporter for High School Hammertime, appearing on Fox Sports Network Detroit. She also reported and anchored for an audience of more than 24,000 viewers as part of “The Source,” a magazine news show produced by students. Her report aired in the 9th largest market at the time, Washington DC on the former WB Interloop show.

Apart from her career, she like being actively involved in the community. She is a board member of the American Diabetes Association in Birmingham, Alabama, and Northeast Ohio. Her journalism career began at the CBS station in Green Bay, Wisconsin working as a night-side reporter, web producer, and later fill-in anchor. During her working time there, she enjoyed reporting on a small child with a rare skin disease who had been denied the funds needed for potentially life-saving treatment. Furthermore, Golston is a Suzuki-trained pianist, a craft she studied for 8 years.
