Heather O’Rourke Surgery / Injury

On April 30, 2016, O’Rourke revealed her plastic surgery through a post on her official Facebook Page. She stated that she was injured in Asbury Park Amusement Park ride when she was around the age of 2. She was at the park with her grandma, grandma’s friend, and her sister. Her sister went on a ride for older children while O’Rourke chose to hop on the “Bubble Bounce,” which suddenly overturned, and O’Rourke was dragged along the bottom of the ride for quite a while. Her grandma was witnessing all that while on the ground.

O’Rourke was taken to the hospital by an ambulance because she was badly injured – the left side of her face (mostly her left eye) was heavily lacerated. The docs cleaned up the scratches and put a patch over her left eye, and since she was too young for plastic surgery, she had to wait until she was 7 years old. She says that she is self-conscious of the scar next to her left eye and that she wears her hair as close as possible to the scar to hide it. In the accident, a teenager lost his life, so she considers herself lucky to survive the accident with ‘only’ a scar.
