Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he was studying broadcast journalism between 1980 and 1981. While there, he was also an Undergraduate Student.
Kerr is also a proud graduate of Weatherford College where he obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Physical Education and Journalism. While there, he was participating in Varsity Basketball. He is also a graduate of Dallas DW Carter H.S. where he was still studying Varsity Basketball.

Kerr works with the Newschannel10 team where he serves the station as an evening Anchor. He joins the station with over 35-years of experience in television news. Of the 35 years of experience, 28 years of them were spent working as a sportscaster at stations located in Illinois, Greenboro, Oklahoma, Texas, and North Carolina along with Fos Sports SW located in Dallas.
He has made the transition to news and also spent the last several years at stations in Beaumont and San Angelo. He has won various broadcast awards along with the way including two Lone Star Emmy Awards, one for the news and the other for sports. Away from work, he happens to be a cyclist and enjoys collecting cards for his collection. Additionally, he and his wife enjoy everything Amarillo and the Panhandle have to offer.
