Before joining the team, she was actively involved in various organizations during her time at Mississippi State University (MSU), including serving as an executive member of the Foundation Ambassadors, being a part of the East MS Chapter of the NWA and AMS, serving as a Panhellenic Greek Counselor, and being a member of Phi Mu. Additionally, while completing her final year at MSU, she worked as a weekend meteorologist for a station in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Hailing from Baton Rouge, LA, Dencausse is no stranger to weather conditions. Her upbringing in a region prone to weather extremes influenced her decision to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology, where she could combine her fascination with weather phenomena and her desire to serve others. When not analyzing weather patterns, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and engaging in activities like running and shopping. Furthermore, she remains a dedicated supporter of both the MSU Bulldogs and LSU Tigers sports teams throughout the year.
