Her career began in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.) working for TV6 & FOX UP. While there, she served as a Houghton bureau reporter. Later she was elevated to a weekend anchor. She also gained experience and learned how to edit, shoot and report her own stories. Mays enjoyed her time in the U.P. She again watched Michigan Tech students create beautiful snow statues of the area’s rich mining history.
Mays loved eating a pasty with a side of ketchup and finding craft breweries. While in U.P., she how to drive and live in snow. Though she survived three U.P. winters, she is not a big fan of snow and cold. The Midwest taught her not to take summer for granted. After a few years working in the U.P, she headed to Green Bay. While there, she worked for FOX 11 for six years as a weekend reporter and anchor. She has a story she looked forward to, watching littoral combat ships slide into the Menominee River in Marinette.
Throughout her career, she has covered major stories including the many presidential candidates who passed through Titletown. Her reporting took her inside Lambeau Field many times. She was even convinced to be a Packers fan.
During her leisure time, she likes watching old episodes of “The X-Files.” The truth is out there and spending time with her fiancé, occasional game nights. In addition to that, she likes looking for a new show to binge on.
