Brennes is a traffic anchor for KXAN News. Since 1996 she has watched the skyline and the roads change in her hometown, when she began as a freshman at Austin High School. She began her career in Wichita Falls, Texas working as a news anchor and reporter. Afterward she worked in Waco, Texas, anchoring and reporting for three years before coming back home in 2009.
Erica has always had a good sense of direction, and she became a self-proclaimed traffic nerd when she first began reporting on Austin traffic in 2012. She spent three years covering Austin traffic, then two years at Ride Scout, a ground transportation mobile app that was founded here in Austin. She also loves embracing all things digital content and has created an online community of Austin moms through her social media channels and blog, Real Mom, Real Tired. During her free time, Brennes loves hanging out with friends and family around Austin.
