Eric Jeansonne Career
Jeansonne is a Meteorologist for WLOX. At the age of 5 years old, after Hurricane Andrew tracked through his home state of Louisiana, Eric knew he wanted to become a meteorologist. He says that he will never forget coming home from his first day of kindergarten to his mom putting tape on windows. When he asked her why she was doing that, she told him a hurricane was coming. He didn’t know what that was. But, he found out the next morning, and ever since he was hooked on the weather.
Eric’s passion for weather made him pursue his career in meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. He previously worked for four years at KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas before joining the WLOX family. While at KFDX, he covered everything including tornado outbreaks and winter storms.
on May 16, 2015, Jeansonne covered one of the biggest tornado outbreaks where almost a dozen tornadoes were reported in the area, including a mile-wide EF-3 tornado. He stayed in the air for five continuous hours warning viewers of the dangerous storms. During his free time, he enjoys relaxing and watching movies with his cat, Ciro. He also loves photography.
