Diane Ako is an American award-winning journalist working for KITV as a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter. She joined the station in March 2018. Ako is an accredited yoga teacher; a citizen scientist with a marine biology group studying endemic ‘opae ula shrimp; a Shinto shrine maiden for Daijingyu Temple of Hawaii; and a board member for one of the nation’s longest-running LGBTQ film festivals, the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival.
