Young serves as the Chief meteorologist at WLNS-TV based in Lansing, Michigan, United States. Prior to joining WLNS-TV, he worked at KLBK CBS13 where he served as the chief meteorologist from August 1999 to June 2004. He had previously spent 1 year and 5 months working at ABC11 Eyewitness-WTVD where he served as the weekend meteorologist. In 1984, he joined Scotland High School where he attained his High school diploma in 1989.
He later on joined North Carolina State University where he attained his Bachelor of Science in meteorology, Environmental Science, Air Quality, and Biometeorology in 1997. Young has also won several awards and honors including the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Award in 2021. He also won Michigan Regional Emmy Awards in 2012, Michigan Associated Press Media Editors in 2013, and Michigan Regional Emmy Awards in 2014.
In 2000, he received Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, Michigan Associated Press Media Editors, and Michigan Regional Emmy Awards in 2017. In 2013, he won the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and New Mexico Associated Press Broadcasters. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. In addition to that, he also enjoys spending his free time with his goldfish, 3 ducks, dogs, guinea pigs, and horses.
