During the 11th September terrorist attacks in the United States, he was privileged to travel to New York City with a producer and cameraman where he was filing stories as he went. In addition, he unearthed exclusive and disturbing material of childhood soldiers on the front line in Colombia as part of a special investigation for the Six O’clock News. Additionally, he also unearthed the rioting in Argentina after the economic collapse where he was tear-gassed on the streets of Buenos Aires. The year 2002 saw him covering the football World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
