Sentendrey is an Emmy-Award Winning Reporter for KDFW-TV FOX 4 News. His broadcasting adventure started when he was in First Grade when his school principal asked him to read a poem he wrote over the P.A. system to the entire school. Besides that, he has always been drawn to writing be it short stories, poems, etc. He is a musician who has been writing songs/lyrics since he was a teenager and he still performs in a couple of bands.
While in college David covered their school’s sports teams for the student-run newspaper (The Appalachian) and after college he began writing for a newspaper (The Enquirer Journal). Afterward, in the year 2013, he was brought into the world of television journalism at FOX 46 Charlotte. He says he loves the way television broadcasting allows viewers to see, hear and feel what the subjects are saying. Sometimes, it’s better for them, as journalists, to say less — and let you, the viewer, do the talking.
While at FOX 46 Sentendrey won an Emmy Award for Journalistic Enterprise. He won Multimedia Journalist of the Year and Reporter of the Year from the Radio and Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNAC) as well as several other awards. He has had a number of stories lead to legislative action.
Besides reporting David enjoys basketball, running, Music, cooking, exploring, and snowboarding. Throughout his life, he has always been one of those people who gets along with everyone and has an eclectic set of interests and friends. As a journalist, he believes that’s important to cast a wide net because they are always running into all sorts of stories and people.
