Novarro serves at WABC as a news anchor of the Eyewitness News at 4:00 PM and Eyewitness News at Noon. He began his journalism career with Eyewitness News, where he worked as a college intern, before becoming a news reporter. After that, he became the correspondent based in New Jersey Bureau, and then the news anchor of Eyewitness News Sunday Morning.
At Eyewitness News, he reported on various notable stories like terror cells in New Jersey and New York City, and the overhauling of NJSPD – the New Jersey State Police Department, due to the racial profiling case, Also, he covered the first World Trade Center attack, where he got to interview Omar Abdul-Rahman (blind Sheikh), who was convicted mastermind of the bombing.
Novarro won an Emmy Award for his coverage of tenants held hostage in their Brooklyn apartment building by drug dealers whose home was a drug house. He has assisted in growing “Tiempo,” the Eyewitness News community affairs show. This is the 1st public affairs show that is committed to issues of interest to the Hispanic community to air in N.Y.C. Novarro is so proud of himself for working hard to better his community.
Novarro went to work for WFLD-TV in Chicago, Illinois in the year 2000, where he anchored the morning newscasts. Seven years later, Novarro transitioned to WFLD’s evening newscasts at 10 p.m. In Chicago, Novarro covered the presidential campaign of Obama, with profiles on the then Senator, as well as his family at their home. He served as a live news anchor of Barrack Obama’s historic election night victory, from Grant Park. He was voted “Best Newscaster” in the year 2010 in a Chicago radio poll. When coming to Novarro’s education, he is a proud graduate of New York University.
