Dave Oliver is an American Meteorologist working with the Newschannel10(KFDA-TV) News team where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist. He kick-started his career in television working in Corpus Christi in late 1983. This was before he later obtained a job as a Chief Meteorologist in Victoria, Texas between 1984 and 1986.

Dave attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where his passion for weather and storms continued to grow. He joined up with fellow students at OU along with employees of the National Severe Storms Laboratory and became involved in tornado chasing in the early 1980s. his family moved to the Texas coast for his middle and high school years.

Oliver acquired a key interest in waterspouts and hurricanes toward the end of his high school and made the decision that he would pursue meteorology as his career. He was contacted and offered the job with the KFDA-TV team in late 1986 and this is when he joined the station. Dave undertook his role as a Chief Meteorologist for the station in 1987.
Away from work, he enjoys lifting weights and exercising, eating ice cream, camping, leading a men’s Bible study, chasing storms, spending time with his family, and fishing. Additionally, he is very active in church and spends a lot of time in school and giving presentations. He states that God has been able to bless him in a mighty way by allowing him to do what he loves doing in that wonderful part of the world.
Oliver goes ahead to state that the area has the best and most fascinating weather in the country and the people there are so warm and friendly. He says that has been such a rewarding home and God has shown him that it is the right place for him to be.
