In addition to his TV role, Dan hosts a weekday radio program on 1010XL and 92.5 FM from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. He has three main aspirations for his favorite sports teams: a New York Mets world championship, a Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl victory by 2020, and witnessing his alma mater, the Florida Gators, claim another Crystal trophy.
Dan’s background is rooted in Miami, where he actively participated in sports and received numerous accolades. During his senior year at Miami Sunset, he earned an honorable mention in water polo and also holds the unique distinction of being removed from the National Honor Society.
Notably, Dan once led a media team as a quarterback to the flag football semifinals and had the experience of playing in a professional basketball game, where he struggled with a 0-5 shooting performance. Additionally, Hicken is actively involved in several charitable organizations, including the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation, which supports families of children with leukemia, and the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation, which promotes academic achievement and positive life skills for youth through tennis.
