Chaffins serves WAGA as a weekend sports anchor and a reporter. Also, he serves as a host of High 5 Sports and Dirty Bird Report. He joined the FOX 5 Atlanta team in October 2012. Further, he has served the station for a decade.

In his quarter century with the station, he has broadcasted the Masters, World Series, Super Bowls, Daytona 500, and, College Football Playoff. Although he voices, his favorite assignment was in the summer of 2014 when he and Good Day Atlanta’s Ron Gant broadcasted the trio of Braves inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Having grown up in Stone Mountain, he encountered the Braves’ 1995 World Series title, the 1996 Olympics, and the Falcons’ 1998 Super Bowl run. After completing his undergraduate studies in college, he served in Toccoa, Georgia at WNEG-TV as a sports director.

While there, he anchored, reported, and produced the nightly 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. Also, he hosted and produced a live 30-minute high school football show “Friday Night Under the Lights” and sports specials. Else, he served as a weather anchor on the nightly newscasts from July 2007 to September 2008. Chaffins also served as a fill-in main news anchor.
