Cornejo serves WMAR-2 News as a broadcast meteorologist. He joined the WMAR-2 News team in April 2022. Prior to this, he served in Salt Lake City, Utah at ABC4 Utah (KTVX-TV) as a meteorologist and a weather reporter. During his quarter-century there, he provided coverage for everything in Salt Lake City, for instance, the snowstorms that produced “The Greatest Snow on Earth,” a memorable drought year, and a succeeding heat wave.
Also, he covered wildfires, the fifth wettest monsoon season that Utah has witnessed, which did include two tornados. Further, he served in Pocatello, Idaho as a weekend meteorologist and a multimedia journalist for just about 2 years. Later, he was promoted to serve as a weekday morning meteorologist. Notably, in Idaho, he broadcasted the Labor Day Windstorm that shifted wind speeds of nearly 100 mph to the high deserts of the western Rockies.
Nonetheless, his on-air meteorologist career debuted when he served WMAR-2 News as an intern. On a side note, he is a massive weather nerd and often checks out the recent models and radar to see where the next big weather event is happening in the state.
