Shields works for WFTV Channel 9 News where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist for the Eyewitness News Daybreak. He also serves the station as a Noon Meteorologist. Brian states that weather has always been his passion. He further stated that he first started giving the forecast with a chalkboard when he was 5 years old.
He kick-started his career working for the ABC affiliate station in Salisbury, Maryland. Later on, she went on to enjoy the mountains at the ABC affiliate in Charleston, Western Virginia. Brian also serves as an Assistant Basketball Coach for Bishop Moore Catholic High School.
Shields has been working for the team in Orlando, Florida, United States since February 2022. He received the Certified Broadcast Meteorology(CBM) from the American Meteorological Society. Asides from this, she has a National Weather Association Seal of Approval for weathercasting.
Shields is also a former board member at the Orlando Science Center. He continues to partner with the group on special projects. Asides from this, he is a big fan of the New York Yankees. As the college basketball season was rolling around, he was glued to the television in order to see his Villanova Wildcats.
