Scanland is a State Capitol Correspondent for Lilly Broadcasting Erie, PA in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While at Syracuse, he worked on congressional and mayoral campaigns and also covered the 2018 elections for WAER Radio. He spent his college summers in Washington, D.C. where he interned in government relations. After graduating from college in 2019, he lived and worked in D.C. as the Government Relations Manager for a trade association.
After about a year, Brendan decided to return to Syracuse for acquire a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. He spent the 2021 summer, reporting in Washington, D.C. on the federal government for his capstone program and is excited to now be reporting on state government for north-central PA. He is an avid golfer and loves bird watching, fishing, and kayaking. During his free time, he loves outdoors, cheering on the Syracuse Orange and the Baltimore Ravens, or traveling.
