Hanson serves as the 4, 6, and 10 p.m. anchor at WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin. Prior to this role, he served as the sports director and also covered local sports. Prior to working at WAOW-TV, he worked at KWWL-TV based in Dubuque, Iowa where he served as a multimedia journalist from October 2014 to April 2018.
He had previously spent 3 years and 10 months working at The United States Marine Corps where he served as a broadcast journalist from January 2008 to October 2011. He went to The University of Minnesota where he attained his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 2014. During his time in college, he enrolled in the Marine Corps and worked there for four years.
He also served as a broadcaster at the Marines and was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan before going to the Philippines, Afghanistan, and Australia. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys hiking, bike riding, getting out on walks, and other outdoor activities.
