Bell works as Maryland Bureau Chief for ABC7/WJLA-TV station where he joined the news team in 1991. He has obtained more than 12 Emmy awards for covering different stories. These were instigated by even breaking the story of Pfisteria contamination in Maryland waters.
Before he worked for ABC7/WJLA-TV, he served for WMAR-TV in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1986-1991 he was assigned as a general reporter at the State House. When he served at WMAR-TV, he also did coverage on environmental issues in “Project Environment” which was part of a newscast.
At Maryland Public TV he worked as a State House, Documentary reporter/producer for a period of two consecutive years. In addition to this, he has been a field producer for Independent Network News in the Washington bureau on Capitol Hill. He has attained a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland.
