She began her career at KATV in 2002 as a general assignment reporter and has already become a key figure in the state of Arkansas. Her first stint at Channel was immediately after graduating, where she worked behind the scenes. Months later, Hunt moved to Fort Smith/Fayetteville, where she had her first on-air role, before deciding to return to central Arkansas, rejoining Channel 7 as an evening anchor.
Throughout her extensive journalism career, Hunt has reported on a wide range of stories, from following Gen. Wesley Clark across Iowa and beyond during his 2004 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination to offering audiences a behind-the-scenes look at Good Morning America in New York City through in-depth conversations with Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson, and Robin Roberts. She also covered the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, anchored live shows from Heifer International, Riverfest, & Toadsuck, and reported from Nacogdoches, Texas, after debris was found following the shuttle’s tragic re-entry.
Among the accolades she has received over the years are an Associated Press Award for excellence in reporting and a Multiple-time winner in the “Best TV News Person” category by the readers of the Arkansas Times. She was also part of the anchor team that won an Emmy for Best Newscast.
