In theater, he served with Om Katare, an established artist. After his streak at the New York Film Academy, he debuted his career with the documentary, Anamika: Her Glorious Past, in 2006. In 2014, he served alongside Amitabh Bachchan in the TV series Yudh, where he played the role of the villain, Ajat Shatru. Nonetheless, he made his debut in Bollywood with Milind Dhaimade’s directorial debut, Tu Hai Mera Sunday.
In 2016, he co-starred alongside Barun Sobti and Shahana Goswami which surrounds the lives of five friends. On top of that, the film premiered globally at the 60th BFI London Film Festival and attained positive critical acclaim. In 2017, he signed Imtiaz Ali’s romantic movie, Laila Majnu, following auditioning for it in December 2015. Further, he uptook the lead role of Qais/Majnu in the movie which shows the classic love story of Laila and Majnu but is set in modern times.
The film was directed by Sajid Ali and bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor. Also, he experienced a big physical transition for the role and gained critical acclaim for his natural performance as Majnu.
