During her time in West Texas, she covered everything from a deadly gas explosion in a residential neighborhood to the shooting on the Texas Tech University campus where an officer was killed and the resulting $20 million lawsuit.
Avery also became the “self-appointed” city government reporter, following citizen outrage over land annexation and high utility bills. She is honored to work with KXAN’s Investigators once more, fighting for positive change in their state. During her free time, you can find her at a coffee shop or on a patio with her rescue dog, Tuxedo, or exploring Austin’s live music scene.
