Loveland is a meteorologist working at WTKR. She anchors every Wednesday through Friday at 10 p.m. on WGNT, as well as on WTKR and WGNT on Saturdays and Sundays, you may listen to her forecasts. Before joining the News 3 staff, she worked as a morning reporter and meteorologist for WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, Maine. For more than three years, she made snowfall forecasts in feet! With 158 inches of snowfall, her first winter in Maine was exceptionally snowy.
Before being hired in Maine, April served as an intern at WJET/WFXP in Erie, Pennsylvania. In Geneva, Ohio, where April was raised, lake-effect snow is common. While a Ball State student, April got the opportunity to spend two weeks storm-chasing in the Great Plains. She won’t forget that at all.
During her free time, April enjoys spending time with her dog Mojave. She likes trying new meals and exercising. Sushi is her favorite dish! In addition, April enjoys reading, watching movies, hiking, thrift store shopping, and generally trying new things. April is thrilled to be in Hampton Roads and to provide weather forecasts for the area’s dynamic and always-changing climate.
