Prior to this, she was working for KENS5-TV in San Antonio, Texas serving the station as an Anchor/Reporter. There, she worked between November 2014 and November 2016. While there, she worked to raise awareness about sex trafficking and reported in Waco after a biker shootout resulted in 177 arrests and anchored the Saturday morning News. In addition to this, she was privileged to receive the Excellence in Media Award from the Texas Veterans Commission.
She has also previously worked for KIRO TV serving the station as a News Writer. She worked for the station in Seattle, Washington between May 2013 and November 2014. Prior to this, she was working for Tomorrow’s Leaders of Washington as a Board Member for Media Outreach. She served on the board between April 2013 and November 2014 in Seattle, Washington. Aside from this, she has worked for AAINA – South Asian Women’s Festival in Seattle serving the team on Marketing and Media Outreach.
In addition to this, she worked for KXLY Broadcast Group serving the team as a News Reporter in Spokane, Washington. There, she served between April 2011 – January 2013. There, she was digging into an environmental controversy that pitted supporters of endangered wildlife against communities that depend on logging to survive.
Anusha began her career in the Tri-Cities and in the shadow of the Hanford Nuclear Site covered fears of nuclear debris reaching Washington following a massive tsunami that hit Japan. There, she was working for KVEW-TV as a General Assignment Reporter. She served the station between January 2010 and April 2011.
Her love for journalism began when she was interning with a TV Network located in India. When she was working towards her journalism degree at the University of Washington, she co-produced and filmed a documentary on arranged marriages which screened at the Independent South Asian Film Festival in Seattle.
Roy has also been privileged to narrate the award-winning documentary Threads. This film is about a Bangladeshi artist who taught about a type of quilting that turned into a livelihood for hundreds of destitute women. She is very happy to now call Denver home.
