While in The Hostess City, Amanda helped bring awareness to the anti-Asian attacks happening nationwide. Following Aguilar’s coverage, the City of Savannah created its first Asian American and Pacific Islander Task Force.
Amanda also led the coverage of the death of Ahmaud Arbery, which she and her team won in 2021 an Emmy. Before going to Georgia, she worked at KSN-TV in Wichita, KS for almost three years. While in the station she covered blizzards, wildfires, and tornadoes. During her free time, Amanda is either watching Netflix, napping or eats.
