Later on, she made a return after spending time in the Bay Area while reporting and anchoring at KTVU Fox 2 in Oakland, California. While there, she covered crucial news assignments including PG&E’s widespread power shut-offs, the homeless and housing crisis, the 49ers’ Super Bowl run, and the devastating wildfires.
Previously, she spent about six years with ABC15 News and first joined the team in September 2013. During this time, she reported on some of Arizona’s biggest stories including massive monsoon storms, the Red for Ed marches, Super Bowl XLIX, and the death of longtime Senator John McCain, among others.
Asides from this, she spent about two years working for KYMA down in Yuma, Arizona. There, she was anchoring and producing the weekday primetime newscasts. During this time, she was on the anchor desk for many big headlines. This includes the Yarnell Hill Fire deaths, and the Jodi Arias verdict.
While being so close to the California and Mexico borders, she has been able to cover a wide range of stories that crossed state and international lines in both English and Spanish. Born in Chicago and raised in the city and Northwest suburbs, she attended her Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia College Chicago. While growing up, her parents stressed the importance of a sense of community and pride in where you come from.
Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, watching a good movie and video chatting with her family. She also feels blessed to be able to live in Arizona. She states that her family says they will be sure to visit her during the winter months.
