In her tenure, she also broke news on the federal corruption conviction and appeal of former Governor Bob McDonnel, the Virginia Republicans’ legal challenge to McAuliffe’s mass restoration of rights executive order the Affordable Care Act’s loss of coverage for 250,000 Virginians, and the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Mark Warner and opponent Ed Gillespie.
She has also anchored and produced newscasts regularly at a station located in Charlottesville. Austin was also previously working as a general assignment reporter located in Waynesboro and as a videographer located in Danville and Lynchburg, Virginia.
Austin was also awarded various journalism internships as an investigative researcher at a TV station located in Raleigh/Durham. She was also a reporter/translator at Deutsche Presse Agentur (German Press Agency) located in Washington which was while taking classes at Georgetown University through The Fund for American Studies, and also worked as an intern at ZDF(German TV) located in Berlin.
