Rose serves KOAA as a meteorologist on weekend evenings on News5 and during the week reporting on weather stories that matter. He joined the weather team in the fall of 2019. Reporting live from Monument serves as one of his unforgettable moments in November 2019. Over a foot of snow fell in single-digit temperatures as he conveyed to viewers continuous updates about changing road and weather conditions. Also, during drastic weather seasons, when a strong line of thunderstorms, derecho, blasted through Colorado with ruinous wind gusts and large hail.
Prior to KOAA, he served at KEYT and KKFX in Santa Barbara as chief meteorologist for over 14 years. While there, he provided coverage for numerous natural crises counting raging wildfires, lethal mudslides, and powerful Pacific storms. In 2015, he attained the Golden Mike Award from the Radio & TV News Association of Southern California for the Best TV Weather Segment. Before Santa Barbara, he served at WCBI in Columbus, Mississippi as a meteorologist. On a side note, he’s an ardent skier who loves hiking, camping, and exploring the state. Also, he’s thrilled to be involved in the community.
