Hoshida serves KHON as a sports reporter. He joined the station in May 2020. Prior to this, he served in Richland, Washington at KEPR as a sports director. For just about 4 years, he provided coverage for sports for more than 20 high schools and told the local athletes’ motivating stories. Twice, the local community elected him Best Sportscaster in the People’s Choice. Further, he served in Eureka at KIEM as a sports anchor. This served as his initial on-air experience where he broadcasted high school and college sports.
His passion for local sports developed when he was in San Francisco at Comcast SportsNet Bay Area for three years moving up the production ranks. From 2010 to 2015, he provided coverage for 4 championship runs. When he is not working, he golfs, eats great food, tastes craft brews, and enjoys the beach alongside his wife and dog. Else, he enjoys cheering on his Bay Area teams: (Go Sharks, 49ers, Giants, and Warriors!
