Prior to working at KSL, Eakle worked as an outdoor reporter and host Roughin it Outdoors at KUTV 2News/KMYU in the Greater Salt Lake City area from January 1990 to August 2011. Since he could wield a rod and a gun, he has been fishing and hunting in Utah’s outdoors, and he credits his father with instilling in him a love of the great outdoors and an understanding of the value of being a responsible outdoorsman.
Fly fishing, hunting Elk, Deer, and upland game, as well as “dunking a worm with the kids,” are some of the most popular outdoor hobbies. He recently started working as a part-time professional hunting guide, but he still enjoys spending time in the wilds of Utah with his two kids and two daughters.
