She is thrilled to be back home reporting for the station she grew up watching after spending four years in the Deep South. While in college she also interned at WPLG. Previously before joining WPLG, she worked for WEAR in Pensacola as a reporter and fill-in anchor. During the historic flooding in April 2014, Jenise was the first reporter to bring live reports.
She also covered the funeral of Col. Bud Day, F-35 training kicking off at Eglin Air Force Base, and the Escambia County jail explosion. She began her career at KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana as a one-man-band reporter and fill-in anchor. Fernandez loves to spend time with her big Cuban family. She is a proud “dog mommy” of Mr. Jay Gatsby, a miniature American Eskimo with a big personality.
