Additionally, she holds the record of being the first woman to receive the coveted CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) seal from the AMS. Notably, Spencer served as the President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the National Weather Association and as the Vice President of the National Weather Association.
Spencer is deeply involved in her community, sharing her love of meteorology through school visits that reach thousands of children each year. She recently published her first children’s book, How Do Meteorologists Predict the Future?, and regularly speaks to civic and church groups, sometimes even performing songs.
