After graduating college, Mayk worked as a South Jersey correspondent for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Next, she worked for The Sarasota Herald-Tribune as a business reporter as a business reporter. Before moving to Tampa, she worked for cable station SNN in Sarasota, Florida as a television news anchor. In Tampa, she served WFLA and reported politics as well as consumer issues and investigative stories.
